Drawing from his own personal experience of suffering through chronic pain, Tim Hansel helps readers find rays of light in the darkness of despair and better understand the purpose of painful wilderness experiences.
Tim Hansel tells it like it is, with a heart for God, and a body that is always in severe pain, his spirit never darkens. This is a book that can change your life as it changes your perspective and molds your attitude.
 | Tim Hansel is a an author who understands what its like to feel alone. For me it was an amazing gift to hear that you can feel alone in the midst of being with people. Here was a famous author and speaker talking about how alone he felt in the midst of a career that most would find successfull and full of ministry. After reading his previous books, this was the first book that allowing me to know that Tim didn't have it all figured out. That he struggled just like the rest of us. Essentially, that he was human. So, this book is for the person that is alot like him. Seeking to grow with the Lord, seeking to work through pain, and seeking to be all that God wants us to be. I have not been this motivated by a book since You've Got to Keep Dancing. You see, we all need to be reminded that feeling alone is okay. That even in the midst of life with thousands of people around you will feel alone. This is a must- read book for anyone in ministry or anyone that has ever given, given, given and yet still felt empty and alone." - Amazon.com reviewer Tom Matson from Minneapolis, MN |
BOOK REVIEW by a member of Rest Ministries
When the fatigue flares are high, I look for an encouraging book to keep my joy. After reading You Gotta Keep Dancin a few years before by this same author, this title definitely caught my interest! Tim talks about the wilderness and quotes many famous writers of encouragement. The Wilderness is a time for Spiritual Journey.
He writes, "In Scripture a wilderness experience always has a distinct purpose and it always leads to a promise, the same is true of interior wilderness. The wilderness is unknown, it is unpredictable. We go into our interior wilderness in order to learn, to discover, to grow. We never know what will happen. We're boldly asking God to surprise us, overwhelm us, stun us again with His presence and His love."
As I read this awesome book of wisdom, it gives me great hope and encouragement to endure this journey. Instead of feeling lonely of which I can feel very easily, I dig deeper into my "Wilderness Book," read encouraging devotionals and books, listen to praise, write, and most importantly ...."LISTEN" for what God wants me to learn and pass on to those living this life of chronic illness.
Imagine unbelievers feeling God's Presence in this chronic illness way, and know they can be 100% whole in Heaven, God's Promise. Think of how our Attitude in our darkest flares can lift up someone and lead them into God's Kingdom!
It all depends on Our Attitude! So I Am "Dancin' Toward The Dawn" and I mean Dance! Try it, you can Dance with your feet, your fingers, your speech, your song, your Praise and Worship, your minds, however you are able. Even write a devotional. However you can share your Dance. You have to get this awesome book from Rest Ministries! You will be rejuvenated and experience Joy in the darkness of loneliness and pain. There are so many tidbits in this book, you can just savor each chapter!
